How We Work

As you can imagine, we are asked this question frequently. There is not a “one-size fits all solution” for every family. An estate plan should be tailored to each client’s needs. You may want to run quickly away from any lawyer who can tell you exactly what your plan would cost over the phone or by email without first completing a comprehensive discovery process. Most plans fail because an estate planning attorney does not take the time to explore what their client wants. At Colorado Wills and Estates, we tailor each plan to the needs of every client and our client chooses the level of planning and price that is right for them.

Three Levels Of Planning

An effective estate plan needs to be tailored to your situation. We offer 3 levels of planning to suit your varying needs. Our approach is educational and proactive. We educate you based on the specifics of your assets, family situation, and your individual needs, wants and values and then guide you to tell us what you want most, so we can create the plan (and the fee for that plan) that aligns with your objectives for your family and your assets.

We believe estate planning is not just about transferring your financial assets and personal belongings. It’s also about capturing and transferring your valuable intangible gifts. We also help you transfer who you are and what’s important to you – your values, insights, stories and experience to your loved ones through a Legacy Interview.

Colorado Wills and Estates will make sure your plan adapts with your life, your assets and the law. Most traditional estate planning attorneys prepare your estate planning documents and that’s it. You may never hear from them again. At Colorado Wills and Estates, we see the signing of your estate plan as just the beginning of our relationship with your family. We will make sure that your plan adapts to the changes in the law and your life by reviewing it every three years or once a year through our membership program.
