Colorado Elder Law and Estate Planning Attorney
Brian Musell, Esq.
My estate planning practice focuses on helping individuals and families make important decisions today to avoid unnecessary pain and conflict in the future. I understand how complicated the estate planning and Medicaid process can be, and I guide my clients to ensure that their loved ones are taken care of and their final wishes are carried out.
We are passionate about what we do
I founded Colorado Wills and Estates after my mother passed away after suffering a tragic accident at her home and spent nearly a month in the hospital unable to make her own decisions about the medical treatment she received. Unfortunately, my mother did not have a medical directive or estate plan in place, and my sister and I did our best to decide what my mother would have wanted to happen. After that experience, I knew I wanted to help others avoid the same fate. Protecting your legacy and future is always difficult, but with me, on your side, you will have peace of mind knowing that I am here for you and your loved ones every step of the way.
Colorado Estate Planning Attorney
I am privileged to serve individuals and families protect their assets from lawsuits, creditors, divorce, federal estate taxes, and the high cost of long-term care insurance. We help parents make sure that their children are taken care of in the way they want and by the guardians they choose in the event, something happens to them. We offer planning strategies to reduce conflict for blended families. We assist parents of children with special needs to ensure that their child continues to receive the benefits and care they require.
Medicaid Asset Protection and Crisis Planning
Do you have a family member who needs assistance with activities of daily life (ADLs)? Are you worried about the rising costs of long-term care? In Colorado, the average cost of a private nursing home is currently $10,000 per month. Many Medicaid professionals, including estate planning attorneys, believe that the only way a person can apply and qualify for Medicaid is to spend nearly all of the assets they worked so hard to obtain. This is absolutely not true. We help individuals and families protect their assets and qualify for Medicaid benefits.
